Constitution

- The group shall be called The South Wales Stickmakers.
- The object of the group shall be to promote and encourage interest in the craft of stickmaking. The group will hold at least four meetings a year including the Annual General Meeting and Annual Stick Show.

No member shall use the group's name in the pursuance of commercial interest nor use the group's name in connection with any trade or exhibition without the prior consent of the officers.

Membership. Membership shall be open to anyone interested in the craft of' stickmaking. Only fully paid-up members and honorary members shall be eligible to hold office and to vote.
- Subscription.
The annual subscription shall be determined by the recommendation of the officers to the Annual General Meeting. (£10 as of AGM April 2008) The subscription is due on the first day of January: those who have not renewed their membership by 1st March shall cease to be members.
- Officers.
The officers of the group shall be a Chairman, a Secretary and a Treasurer. They shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.
- Honorary Members.
A Patron, a President, Vice-Presidents and Life Members may be appointed at an Annual General Meeting. They may be admitted to Honorary membership and shall then take full part in the group's affairs.
- Executive Committee. The Executive Committee shall comprise of the President. the Officers and eight members to be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. The Committee shall have power to co-opt other members as necessary. Any five members present at a meeting will form a quorum. In the case of equality of votes the Chairman shall have a casting vote in addition to his vote as a member.
- Annual General Meeting. The Annual General Meeting shall be held before the end of April. Items for inclusion in the Agenda for the Annual General Meeting must be submitted in writing to the Secretary at least 28 days prior to that meeting.
- Winding Up. The group may be dissolved only be a vote of two thirds of those present at an Annual General Meeting. In the event of the dissolution of the group, the disposal of available funds shall be at the discretion of the Executive Committee.
- Amendments. The constitution may be amended only be the vote of two thirds of those members present at the Annual General Meeting, provided that 14 days notice of the proposed amendment has been given to all members.
- Finance. The Treasurer shall receive all subscriptions and take all payments as necessary on behalf of the group. He shall be accountable to the Executive Committee at each meeting and shall submit a duly audited Statement of Accounts to the Annual General Meeting. The Auditor shall be appointed annually at the Annual General Meeting. Cheques will be signed by the Treasurer and Chairman or Secretary.
